Facelift
A facelift is a medical procedure which is known as Rhytidectomy in medical terms. It is a procedure of cosmetic surgery which is undertaken to give a younger and more youthful appearance to the face. The process includes reshaping the lower half of the face and removing excess facial skin. In the process , loose skin is tightened around the jawline. The deep creases around the mouth and nose along with the hanging fat is tightened. This process is also used to tighten the underlying tissues and is sometimes combined with surgery to enhance the forehead, cheeks, eyebrows, and eyelids. The treatment is usually performed under the influence of local anesthetics. The duration for this procedure ranges from 2 to 5 hours. A small incision is made to lift the skin off the deeper facial and fat muscles. The skin is moved upwards, and the excessive skin is removed. The incisions are closed with staples, and bandage is applied.
